The only exception was for Noah and his family. v.18

This was a covenant that was made by God.

There was a command to bring two of every type of animal upon the ark. v. 19

1. Fowl 2. Cattle 3. Creeping things

these were the three distinct animal groups.

Noah was also to bring seven pairs of each of the clean animals and fowl. 7:2,3

CLEAN VS UNCLEAN animals

These list are not complete they are just to give you an idea.

Clean: Antelope, Bison, Cattle, Caribou, Venison, Elk, Gazelle, Giraffe, Goat, Hart, Ibex, Moose, Ox, Reindeer, and Sheep.

Unclean: Canines (dog, coyote, fox, wolf, etc…), Felines (Cat, Cheetah, Leopard, Lion, Panther, Tiger), Equines (Donkey, horse, Mule, Zebra), Other (Armadillo, Badger, Bear, Beaver, Camel. Elephant, Gorilla, Monkey, Hippo, Kangaroo, Llama, Mouse, Opossum, Porcupine, Raccoon, Rat, Skunk, Squirrel), Swine, (Boar, Peccary, Pig)

CLEAN VS UNCLEAN FOWL

These list are not complete they are just to give you an idea.

Clean: Chicken, Dove, Duck, Goose, Grouse, Guinea, Partridge, Pheasant, Pigeon, Quail, Sparrow, Swan, Teal, and Turkey.

Unclean: Bat, Buzzard, Crane, Crow, Eagle, Flamingo, Hawk, Heron, Magpie, Osprey, Ostrich, Owl, Parrot, Pelican, Penguin, Raven, Roadrunner, Seagull, Stork, Swallow, Vulture, and Woodpecker.

The reason for more of the clean animals was two fold.

1. For food sources.

2. For sacrifices.
