Jeremiah 6:16 (KJV)
16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
God is giving the people of Israel the only way to avoid coming judgement
There are four verbs that are used to show the way
Stand - To quit moving, to stop. To take time to contemplate. Come back to the fork and wait. See - Compare the two ways. Not just the beginning but the ending. Where does it end up. Ask - Ask those who have traveled the path, ask God, ask about the way. Walk - a steady paced walk down the good way.
It may be called the Old Paths but it is the good way.
It is the way that I believe - the way I intend to walk - the way I have found the Bible to be leading me.
A way of Salvation A Way of God's PresenceA way That Leads to where I want to Go.
This was not an appeal to stand by the old paths, but it was God calling the people back to the old paths. It was a possibility for revival.
I feel that we could be on the verge of a great moving here in our little church. There are great things in the wings just waiting to happen. I don't want to walk any other way than God's way. That is where the true miracles will happen. That is where true revival comes from.
Let's keep walking the old path lets walk in the good old way.
