A Fixed Heart and A Stirred Up Mind
Wednesday, February 7, 2018

David is telling us he has fixed his heart - he has settled some things. One of those things is - There is no turning back. I tell you if we are going to heaven - we are going to have to have that kind of attitude.
I may fall , but I'll get up again - I'm not gonna quitStorms may come - but I'll buck the wind - I'm not gonna quitI may lose everything - I'm still not gonna quitI may go through the valley - Well God is God on the mountain as well as the valley - I'm still not gonna quit
We are gonna have to have it so settled - that nothing can detour us from our goal - My heart is fixed - settled, no going back.
In 2013 a popular song made famous by the Disney movie "Frozen" called "Let it Go" in there the singer says a phrase rather boisterously - "HERE I STAND" this copies verbatim what Martin Luther said several hundred years ago before the Diet of Worms - "HERE I STAND"
The words may be the same - but the attitudes are so different -
Luther meant there was no fear from other authorities because he was bound by the Word of God.
Elsa - the singer in "Let it Go" is singing with the modern motivation that that I can only be free if there are no boundaries at all.
But as Paul admonishes us Ephesians 6:13 - "Having done all TO STAND" Have a fixed heart.
But not only do we need a fixed heart - we need a stirred up mind - We need to remember some things -
It is interesting how many times the phrase - stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance - or remember, or some similar phrase is found in the Bible.
We are to remember the pit from which we were digged
Remember that we are not our own - but we are bought with a price
Remember that no matter what - God is still God
Remember that we are not living for the here and now - but there'll come a day when the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout and with the trump of God and we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together in the air to forever be with the Lord - don't forget this -
Be steadfast - be solid - have a fixed heart - but a stirred up mind.
