And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction.
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few;
God has spoken to me about three areas during this series.
Today we will add a fourth…
#1 Ambassadors: Representative
#2 Manager: Stewardship
#3 Laborer: Skill Set
It is important to understand that God has equipped us with skills necessary to do “Harvest Work”
The harvest is plentiful -
Personality / Gifting / Creativity / Innovation / The Holy Spirit (1 Kings 3:9) is what we have inside of us to initiate an action.
Compassion will cause us to action…
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Action to give:
Physically - Acts of service
Financially - Giving of our resources
Emotionally / Socially - Walking with people through life
That’s why is so important to “Manage” are what God gives us correctly…
Manage your strength -
Manage your time -
Manage your money -
Manage your energy - (no more foolishness)
Remember people are Helpless and Harassed…
I am the one who is skilled to reach them.
therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
“Therefore” - This is very interesting…
“The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few” - Jesus never said we needed more laborers but He was making a comparison between harvest and laborers
Jesus is saying we have laborers… So we are not praying for more laborers.
But we need to pray earnestly - to beg for something (that is indispensable or necessary).
“To the Lord of the Harvest” -
Kingdom Principles
Ambassadors - He gives us the message of reconciliation
Managers - He’s the source of our resources
Laborers - He provides the Harvest
This is the prayer that the Lord will “Send Out” laborers into his harvest!
People are ready!
We have the laborers we need!
Now it’s time to Go....
“Your Compassion Will Grow When You Go.”
Our prayer is Lord....
Stir up the heart of your laborers...
Remind them of what you put inside of them…
Let them know that you have called them…
People are waiting on them…
Family members
Friends
Neighbors
Incite our senses
Increase are ascetics
Teach us to be germane to the harvest culture!
