Our Savior was rejected, so will you v. 14
God’s Salvation is always rejected - Moses, David, Stephen, Jesus
Jesus is the True and Better Moses, He was rejected not because he was bad, but because He was good.
“This Moses, whom they rejected, saying, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’—this man God sent as both ruler and redeemer by the hand of the angel who appeared to him in the bush. This man led them out, performing wonders and signs in Egypt and at the Red Sea and in the wilderness for forty years.
He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
MLK75% of the country in 1968 publicly disapproved of his work
“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.
Standing for the truth in Christ will always be unpopular, you will be judged by your peers about your past. I’ve got good news, will you stick with me for a second.
Moses is rejected....

Moses Identified with them. He learned to be the Hero of Sheep Before He Got and Opportunity to be the Hero of God. Shepherding wasn’t work that polite society did. Only the slaves shephereded. Your savior identifies with you.
Illustration: There are lessons to be learned here. I used to tell younger preachers, who has bathroom duty today and just see their reaction. I knew what kind of preacher they would be.
Work Fast Food, Work construction
Not the ultimate lesson. That lesson is that Jesus understands and feels your pain, because he’s been in your shoes.
Illus: Politicians try hard to identify with you.
Jesus Identified. The builder of the world came down to be a carpenter.

v. 22. “I have been a sojourner in a foreign land.” I have been a stranger in a strange land.”
Moses never made it to the land as part of his judgement, but they did. I might not get there with you.
Moses experienced the estrangement of God, so that those who were estranged could enjoy the fellowship of God.
Another level:
Jesus goes to the Cross alone, estranged from God, so that we who were estranged form God because of our sin, shame and guilt can be brought back into fellowship with him.
