Honoring Their Authority
Authority refers to the prerogative to rule or govern others. It has to do with the right to regulate and control the activities of one or more individuals.
Parents have the authority over their children. Authority means that they have the oversight of their children. 1 Tim.3:4,12; Col.3:20 obey parents in all things
They Have the Right to Be Obeyed (Do what They Say)
They Have the Right to Be Obeyed (Do what They Say)
Define Obey—submission to authority; chain of command; hierarchy of command in the family. God, father, mother, children. Children have no authority in the family. Parents direct and children obey. Children don’t vote, discuss, negotiate, or blackmail. They simply obey. I Why?
1. They are commanded to do so—-Eph.6:1 In the military soldiers are trained to obey without questioning. Clint Eastwood’s made vie “Heartbreak Ridge” Eastwood was a no nonsense drill Sargent assigned the task of preparing young men for war. If he doesn’t do his job a lot of men will die. 2. It’s the Right Thing to Do—Eph.6:1ff -- (right is being proper or right in the sense of being fully justified.
You Reap What You Sow---Children will some day become parents. When you talk to some children they will tell you that they are not going to have children.

2. Occupation---Children were trained to follow parent footsteps.
3. Finance—I remember working on a job picking cotton all day long and having to give all the money to mother. Job at Paper Mill and check went to mother.

Discipline differs from punishment. Discipline is designed to correct.Punishment is designed to hurt.
Discipline must always be accompanied with Love
Discipline limits your mistakes
Discipline meansI love you enough to fight you against doing those things that will hurt you.
