Intro
Have you ever wasted money? Really! Have you ever spent some money on something and whatever it was that you invested your hard-earned money in was not all that you had hoped it would be? The feeling of buyer’s remorse is nothing to joke about because once you spend the money you are stuck with the purchased problem. Here is an example. Have you ever gone to a new place to eat and looked at the menu and saw something that you just had to try? It looked good on the picture but when after you received the meal it was not all that it seemed to be. Or have you ever let someone borrow a few dollars because you wanted to help a friend along the way, with a guarantee that they would pay you back? And here it is 15 years later and you are still waiting for that $50 dollars because you can’t accept the fact that you wasted your money. Or maybe you have wasted some money and you don't even realize it. Maybe you wasted some money trying to impress somebody. Maybe you wasted some money to give yourself some stress relief (hello shoppers). The point that I am trying to make is that wasting your money is not something to be proud of and once you realize that you wasted it the disappointment you feel is accompanied by regret. You wish that you had not wasted that hard-earned money. It has value to you because it belongs to you and you want it to be used in the best possible way. Well, church, I wonder what this world would be like if people were less concerned about money and more concerned about life. I wonder what the church might look like if people were less concerned about material possessions and more concerned about spiritual priorities. I don't like to see people waste their money, but absolutely hate to see people waste their life. God has given you the gift of life and the expectation is that you use that gift its maximum potential. (Preach).
What is more than that God has given us the gift of eternal life when he gave the best that he had, His Son Jesus Christ. (preach)
