GOD FIRST

WHAT GOD SAID
There is a problem in our culture of putting God first in our lives The purpose of this lesson is to examine ourselves in order to put God first. Let’s use the following scripture to see what god has really said about Himself concerning His involvement in our lives.

20 And God spake all these words, saying, 2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

REACTION TO WHAT GOD SAID
There should be a reaction to the words of God concerning His revealing of His will for His creation. David says it very well in Psalm 16.

Psalm 16

1 Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. 2 O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: My goodness extendeth not to thee; 3 But to the saints that are in the earth, And to the excellent, in whom is all my delight. 4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god:
One could sort of see that looking to other earthly things that take you from the awareness that God may offer to you. There are choices to be made every day which are good and they are bad. For example your attitude you have developed about another person. You may accept your personal evaluation or you may go to God and be informed that another attitude is made about the person.
THE REWARD OF GOD
Everyone is looking for life fulfillment. this verse in Psalm 16 shows what it is like with spiritual fulfillment.
Psalm 16:9–11 KJV 1900
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: My flesh also shall rest in hope. 10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; Neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: In thy presence is fulness of joy; At thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
