“Preparing People for Jesus”
“Preparing People for Jesus”
Luke 1:5-25.
Holmon Commentary said that the main idea in these verses is that “God used unlikely people to prepare the way for the forerunner of the Savior.”
Context:
Context:
Every word in Scripture matters!
God is actively involved in using people, unlikely people, to prepare for the Savior to come.
Luke illustrates this truth by mentioning 8 different people in these verses: Zacharias, Elisabeth, Abia (Neh 12:4), Aaron, King Herod, the priests (approximately 18,000), and the angel Gabriel.
God was active!!!
The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water:
He turneth it whithersoever he will.
God is so active in achieving His plans!! This is such a cool truth, because it reminds us that all things come together for God’s purposes.
