Short Introduction Before Baptism.

Notes
Transcript
Today,
we rejoice because two people this morning have decided to be Baptized.
Why be Baptized?
Baptism doesn’t save you.
It doesn’t earn you a good work.
Remember we are saved by grace alone, faith alone, through Christ alone.
So why be baptized?
Baptism is a public declaration.
It tells your friends and family - you have decided that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life - and you have decided follow Jesus.
It publically identifies you with Christs local church. - You are baptized into a church.
And now every member of this church is called to encourage that believer and remind that believer - to stay faithful to God.
Literally, should anyone of us depart from the faith - we can say .... remember when you decided to public you would follow Jesus.
What happened?
Baptism is a tool that God uses in our lives to help us follow Christ.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On that profession of faith I baptize you in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit buried as Christ in Baptism and raised in the newness of life.
