Advent Week #1

Notes
Transcript
This is the first Sunday of the last season of the year 2020. It is advent. Advent is a time of preparation for the celebration of the coming of Christ child.
Jesus did not have to come to earth as a helpless child born in a stable in a feed trough.
He chose to come to earth as a helpless child. The King of Kings and the Lord of Lords made his appearance not as a King, not even as an adult, but as a child.
Why would he do such a thing… He wanted to identify in every way what is was to be human. He left no stone unturned in His quest to be the God-man that no one would see anything less than humanity in his eyes.
By succeeding he have us HOPE that we too could be like him. Completely devoted to the Father’s work, destined to die from birth but willing to change the world as He was going about his life her on earth.
Today we light the HOPE candle.
Please stand as we read this read this psalm as a responsive reading. The Pastor will read the verse and the people will read the response.
