At the time of this email, the 2020 presidential election has no declared winner. I have to admit, I’ve been anxious a few times in the past 24 hours. It’s been an emotional roller coaster at times. Where did this fear and anxiety come from? Although I have a good idea where it came from, I can definitively tell you where it did NOT come from.
Maybe I’m the only one that allows my emotions to get the best of me? If so, tonight’s lesson will be therapy for me. If not, and you can relate, I want to encourage you to come to our mid-week Bible study tonight as we look at a special lesson on renewing our mind.
God has not given a spirit of fear and has called for His people to not worry about tomorrow. To do His will, we must realize we are citizens of heaven, called to be like little children.
“Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, & said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven”
(Matthew 18:2-3, NKJV)
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble”
(Matthew 6:34, NKJV)
CHANGING OUR MINDS TOWARDS GOD
CHANGING OUR MINDS TOWARDS GOD
There’s been too much trust in man for too long. We must trust God to work things out according to His plan no matter the outcome of an election.
Isaiah 30:1-3; 31:1-3
Daniel 2:20-21; 4:17, 32, 34-35
Philippians 4:6-7
My prayer is we can learn to trust more in God’s plan. He always has been and always will be in control. #godsgothis
CHANGING OUR MINDS TOWARDS OTHERS
CHANGING OUR MINDS TOWARDS OTHERS
A lot of friendships have been needlessly damaged because we forgot the golden rule. In matters of opinion, we need to grant liberty.
Romans 12:17-21
Romans 14:10-13
1 Corinthians 9:19-27
My prayer is that we can usher in a new era of civility. We have to learn to respect one another and listen to dissenting viewpoints. #wecandobetter
CHANGING OUR MINDS TOWARDS CHANGE
CHANGING OUR MINDS TOWARDS CHANGE
God has called for Christians, not government, to set the standard of love, compassion, and comfort. We should be attracting people who are hurting and helpless. This is our area of calling not complaining. [Imagine if more Christians were involved with adoption or fostering.]
Ephesians 4:25-32
Titus 2:1-10
Philippians 1:24-29
My prayer is that we embrace our higher calling and seek to show others a better way. May we attract people who are hurting and point them to Jesus. #governmentdoesnthavetheanswer
