Part 1: Light in the Darkness
Mark 13:24-37
1. In this life you will have trouble.
- Mark 13:2, “Do you see all these great buildings?” replied Jesus. “Not one stone here will be left on another; ever one will be thrown down."
- John 16:33, “I have told these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
2. In this life Christ is with you.
- Mark 13:26-27, “At that time men will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And he will send his angels and gather his elect…”
- Matthew 28:20, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
3. In this life there is a correct attitude.
- Mark 13:33, 37, “Be on guard!” “Be alert!” “Watch!”
- 1 Thessalonians 5:6, “So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.”
- John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
