Everything we do is a matter of Faith. Our relationship to God is by faith. Our connection to Christ is by faith. The hope we have eternal life is also by faith.

What make faith work?

What is the secret of the power of Faith?

In this series we will look at Paul’s writing to the church at Galatia and Thessalonica as we explore the Atmosphere of Faith.

The Atmosphere of Faith

Galatians 5:1 KJV 1900
1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Galatians 5:5–6 KJV 1900
5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
Galatians 5:13–14 KJV 1900
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

The Atmosphere of Faith

Faith is a powerful force

Hebrews 11:1 KJV 1900
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Faith is
++Substance
++Evidence
The just live by it
We walk by it

Faith is the place of true liberty

Galatians 5:1 KJV 1900
1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

++That liberty made us free
++Don’t go back

Faith will be tested

++The Faith of a church
++The Faith of an individual
Luke 18:8 KJV 1900
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
1 Peter 1:7 KJV 1900
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Test come
++To strengthen our faith
++That faith may be found
Revealed faith
++Brings honor to God
++Brings glory to God
Proverbs 24:10 KJV 1900
10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, Thy strength is small.
Hebrews 11:6 KJV 1900
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Faith brings things into the realm of possibilities.

Two stories of two blind men
++They addressed Jesus

When we appeal to Jesus humanity
++It is a matter of belief
++It is a matter of trust
++Do we believe He can
Jesus

++Question what they believed
++What they believed about Him

13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
It was general knowledge
++Jesus was a good man
++Jesus was a good teacher
++Jesus was anointed
Acts 10:38 KJV 1900
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

++Him

This information
++Was not visible
++Came by revelation
++is the foundation of the Church
Most people want to know
++What the future holds
++What tomorrow will bring
I just want to know
++Who holds my future
++The author and finisher of my faith
Philippians 3:8–11 KJV 1900
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, 9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
This is our freedom
++Not only do we know Him
++He knows us
2 Timothy 2:19 KJV 1900
19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
