The Story of the Shepherds

READ: Luke 2:8-16, “8And there were shepherds residing in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks by night. 9Just then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! For behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: 11Today in the city of David a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord! 12And this will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”
13And suddenly there appeared with the angel a great multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying:
14“Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to men
on whom His favor rests!”
15When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”
16So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph and the Baby, who was lying in the manger.

Knowing If You Really Believe

READ: Revelation 2:17, “17He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who overcomes, I will give the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone inscribed with a new name, known only to the one who receives it.
You know when you believe. And you know when you have Christ.
If you don’t know if you believe and if you don’t know if you have Christ, then you have yet to find Jesus. You have yet to truly know if you have salvation. If you don’t know if you believe, then it means, you have not found Jesus yet, and it means you have not had this experience.
Only you know, if you truly believe. No one can tell you otherwise. And you cannot be saved, without an actual experience of God. That’s why just mental recognition does not mean that have experienced salvation.
To be saved, is an experience, that you have to have. And it’s not just any experience. It is as this verse states.

Advent HOPE

As we approach Advent, the first advent of Christ, we approach this time as a time of hope realized. The time of fulfilled prophecy of the prophet Isaiah, of Christ coming as the light, into the world of great darkness. Jesus is the promise of light for the world. And the light of the world.
It is a time to rejoice for the hope that Christ represents.
It is a time to make sure that our hope is established in God’s truth.
