Luke 1:26–38 NKJV
26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” 29 But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. 30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” 34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” 35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.” 38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

the calling of God is a joy but it is also a sacrifice.
Luke 1:26–28 NKJV

27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.
she did not know a man.
she was betrothed to Joseph.
she knew it could cost her life.
it would sure cost the life she was trying to build.
many of us want to serve the Lord as long as it is convenient. serving the Lord is not about convenience, it is about conviction.

2. Everyone is called not Just a few people here and there.

Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
Psalm 139:13–16 NKJV
13 For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.
Father God Had a plan for Elizabeth and Zachariah.
God had a plan for Joseph and Mary.
God has a plan for you.
you are unique!
He Gave you a personality
He gave you a story
he gave you purpose and passion
He gave you gifts and talents
1 Corinthians 12:4–7 NKJV
4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:
Revelation 12:11 NKJV
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

3. You have to find yourself in the body that you are called to.

Ephesians 4:15–16 NKJV
15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
Commitment teaches you not to run.
you are here to be fed, and you are here to feed.
you are part of the supply.
God called you to be a part of the cooperate vision of whatever fellowship you are called to.
you may start in the parking lot or as a cleaner, one day you may end up the pastor.
Luke 16:10 NKJV
10 He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.
