Mirad que nadie os engañe por medio de filosofías y huecas sutilezas, según las tradiciones de los hombres, conforme a los rudimentos del mundo, y no según Cristo.Porque en él habita corporalmente toda la plenitud de la Deidad,y vosotros estáis completos en él, que es la cabeza de todo principado y potestad.
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

¿Pues qué, si algunos de ellos han sido incrédulos? ¿Su incredulidad habrá hecho nula la fidelidad de Dios?De ninguna manera; antes bien sea Dios veraz, y todo hombre mentiroso; como está escrito:
Para que seas justificado en tus palabras,
Y venzas cuando fueres juzgado.

Tenemos también la palabra profética más segura, a la cual hacéis bien en estar atentos como a una antorcha que alumbra en lugar oscuro, hasta que el día esclarezca y el lucero de la mañana salga en vuestros corazones;

Cuando se acercaban a Jerusalén, junto a Betfagé y a Betania, frente al monte de los Olivos, Jesús envió dos de sus discípulos,y les dijo: Id a la aldea que está enfrente de vosotros, y luego que entréis en ella, hallaréis un pollino atado, en el cual ningún hombre ha montado; desatadlo y traedlo.Y si alguien os dijere: ¿Por qué hacéis eso? decid que el Señor lo necesita, y que luego lo devolverá.Fueron, y hallaron el pollino atado afuera a la puerta, en el recodo del camino, y lo desataron.

Por lo cual debía ser en todo semejante a sus hermanos, para venir a ser misericordioso y fiel sumo sacerdote en lo que a Dios se refiere, para expiar los pecados del pueblo. Pues en cuanto él mismo padeció siendo tentado, es poderoso para socorrer a los que son tentados.
Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.
