Acts 16:29-31
Acts 16:29-31
25 But about midnight, as Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the [other] prisoners were listening to them,
26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the very foundations of the prison were shaken; and at once all the doors were opened and everyone’s shackles were unfastened.
27 When the jailer, startled out of his sleep, saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was on the point of killing himself, because he supposed that the prisoners had escaped.
28 But Paul shouted, Do not harm yourself, for we are all here!
29 The jailer called for a light. When he saw that they were still in their cells, he rushed in and fell trembling at their feet.
30 Then he led Paul and Silas outside and asked, “What must I do to be saved?”
31 They answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved—you and all your family.”
Midnight Praise:
To So Many people 2020 has felt like a bad dream that they are waiting to wake up from.
It’s not a bad dream, it’s actually what’s necessary to cross over into the new era of Kingdom advancement.
A new era in how you envision God making your house a place of Worship...
A cross-over consists of a great Persecution or great Crisis.
1 Saul was one of the witnesses, and he agreed completely with the killing of Stephen. A great wave of persecution began that day, sweeping over the church in Jerusalem; and all the believers except the apostles were scattered through the regions of Judea and Samaria.
3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.
4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.
5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
8 And there was great joy in that city.
I. Persecution against the Church
II. Saul made havock of the Church entering every house hailing men & women committed them to prison
III. They scattered abroad went every where preaching the Word.
So the Church started in the homes of believers but due to persecution they scattered abroad.
5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built.
6 And the Lord said, Behold, they are one people and they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what they will do, and now nothing they have imagined they can do will be impossible for them.
7 Come, let Us go down and there confound (mix up, confuse) their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.
8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from that place upon the face of the whole earth, and they gave up building the city.
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
We See how In Genesis when wicked men had an idea to work as one with one language to build a tower to heaven, God came down and changed their language.
Then we see’s in Acts 2 righteous men with one accord in one place and he gives them a heavenly language
Stay with Me.....
God has the ability to give back something that was taken.
The Roman officials ordered that Paul and Silas be stripped of their garments and beaten with rods on their bare backs (Persecution)
The Passion Translation: New Testament Chapter 16
23 After they were severely beaten, they were thrown into prison and the jailer was commanded to guard them securely. 24 So the jailer placed them in the innermost cell of the prison and had their feet bound and chained.b
