Foreigners

V 11
Flatlanders are always scrutinized,
sometimes despised, not trusted,
we as aliens, temporary residents, are hated because we
Genesis 19:9 LEB
9 But they said, “Step aside!” Then they said, “This fellow came to dwell as a foreigner and he acts as a judge! Now we shall do worse to you than them!” And they pressed very hard against the man, against Lot, and they drew near to break the door.
the darkness is shattered by the light
light is hated by the darkness
World hated and killed Jesus, thus we as Jesus followers will also be hated

Remaining true to God implies exhibiting a life that constantly does what is right—a life that is submissive to others for the sake of God. Remaining true to God also may involve suffering for Him and demonstrating the same attitudes that Jesus maintained when He suffered in His earthly ministry

Subject Yourselves

This is Gods way for us
Chain of command
God The Father
God the Son is subject to the Father
God the Holy spirit is subject to the Father and the Son
Submission does not mean slavery or subjugation but simply the recognition of God’s authority in our lives. God has established the home, human government, and the church, and He has the right to tell us how these institutions should be run
2:13-17 Civil Authority
Human authority- all the rules
For the sake of Adonai our King
not grudgingly
disobey Daniel 1 Daniel 3 17
all action that we do, is to the honor of Jesus
It is important that we respect the office even though we cannot respect the man or woman in the office
2:18-20 Owner/ Employer
3:1-6 Wives

In The Same Way

3-1, 3-7
as being submissive to govt, employers, governors, local rules
same applies to ungodly conduct put upon the wife
as the ungodly conduct put upon the govt.
as above the example Jesus gave us
Husband to be submissive not to authority but to to her needs
Conclusion
as citizen of Heaven we are as citizen of earth to be the very best the world has ever seen
submission does not mean complaining about
but humble, so Jesus will be glorified
because rebellious behavior brings dishonor to God
Husband and wives are to imitate Jesus in our behavior toward each other
