What God Can Do  with My Mind

Colossians 3:1-4 and Romans 8:5-11

1Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4

Why God Wants You To Set Your Mind

·         What I Set My Mind On is Important Because:

1.      It ____________________ Whose ____________________ I Live By. (Verse 5)

5Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. Romans 8:5

2.      It ____________________ The ____________________ Of My Relationship to God. (Vs 6-8)

6The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; 7the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. Romans 8:6-8

·         If I Set My Mind On  God’s Desires:

1.      Then The Holy Spirit ____________________ Me..

You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. Romans 8:9

2.      Then The Holy Spirit ____________________ Alive.

But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. Romans 8:10

3.      Then The Holy Spirit ____________________ A New Life..

And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you. Romans 8:11

Therefore God Reveals Jesus’ Life

10We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. 11For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may be revealed in our mortal body. 2 Corinthians 4:10-11
