What God Can Do When I Pray In The Spirit—Romans 8:12-17
16Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. Ephesians 6:18
As God’s Child When I Pray In The Spirit He Can:
· Help Me Stop My [MISDEEDS] !
12Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation—but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. 13For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. Romans 8:12-13
5For when we were controlled by the sinful nature, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit for death. 6But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code. Romans 7:5-6
· Lead Me [TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT] !
13For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, 14because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. Romans 8:13-14
8Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. 9Rescue me from my enemies, O Lord, for I hide myself in you. 10Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground. Psalm 143:8-10
· Give Me The [CONFIDENCE] That I Am Truly His Child!
15For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Romans 8:15-16
6Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” 7So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir. Galatians 4:6-7
