Two Great Questions for You—Psalms 103.7-19
Who Am I?
15As for man, his days are like grass, he flourishes like a flower of the field; 16the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. Psalm 103:15-16
Who Is God?
The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. Psalm 103:8
it’s nOT WHO I AM, rather it is That God Is:
[COMPASSIONATE], So That He Has Deep [feelings] for Me.
13As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; 14for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. Psalm 103:13-14
[GRACIOUS], So That He [SAVES] Me Completely.
11For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; 12as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:11-12
[SLOW TO ANGER], So That He [Works] For My Benefit.
9He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; 10he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. Psalm 103:9-10
[ABOUNDING IN LOVE], So That He [BLESSES] Me with Security.
17But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children— 18with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. 19The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all. Psalm 103:17-19
One More Question
What Are You Afraid Of?
5Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” 6So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:5-6
KEY: Compassionate/Feelings. Gracious/Saves. Slow to Anger/Works. Abounding in love/Blesses
