Serenity the state of being serene. Serene is defined as: Marked by utter calm and unruffled repose or quietude.
Faith is the source which grants us immeasurable peace in the midst of life’s storms. By Enoch’s faith it was granted to him that he would not taste death. If we are to experience life instead of death it will be so because of faith.
“He had this testimony” He Pleased God. It is literally saying that it was known of Him by God.
Genesis 5:24 KJV 1900
And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
We see that this is the fourth time in Hebrews which the writer describes something as impossible. 1. In 6:4 impossible for a saved individual to experience repentance for salvation more than once. 2. In 6:18 For God to lie. 3. 10:4 For animal blood to take away sin.

I. Serenity in Life.

How can we have calm in life? This is the question that everyone desires. The ultimate goal that humanity is seeking for is a life of peace. Mankind will search for it in Power, Money, Sex, Stimulants, Religion, Fame, and Knowledge. However we find in the Bible that the only method of obtaining peace is through faith in God.

A. Faith in our Walk.

Genesis 5:21–24 KJV 1900
And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
Enoch was a man of faith although we see that this was not always the case. His 65 years of life that were mediocre at best and wicked at worst yet God was still pleased with his life after he turned to God.

1. A life of faith will affect our testimony

2. A life of faith will affect our direction.

3. A life of faith will affect our urgency.

B. Faith in our Work.

There are only two There are only two options when we face life's uncertainties. Either work it out or faith it out. Manley Beasley
Elijah displayed great Faith during His life yet his life was full of hardship and heartache.

C. Faith on our Witness.

When we live by faith it will be evident in our witness. We will

D. Faith in our Worship.

1. Giving.

We will worship God by giving by faith.
George Mueller came down one day to 2000 hungry orphans and there was not a hand-full of food in the entire home. Mueller asked the kids to bow their heads and pray. As they prayed the doorbell rang and when he answered there were wagons full of fresh warm bread. A caterer had cooked for an event and when he showed up it as the wrong day. Instead of letting the food go to waist he decided to deliver it to the orphanage.
The same God that provided for Mueller can work in our life. However, often he waits on us to step out by faith.
2 Corinthians 9:7 KJV 1900
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

2. Praise.

Mark 14:3–9 KJV 1900
And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head. And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made? For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her. And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me. For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always. She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying. Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
Worship will strengthen our faith.
Worship is the missing jewel of the church today. A.W. Tozer

E. Faith in the Word.

Psalm 119:165 KJV 1900
Great peace have they which love thy law: And nothing shall offend them.

II. Serenity in Death.

A. The Sting of Death.

1 Corinthians 15:54–57 KJV 1900
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

B. The Separation of Death.

2 Corinthians 5:8 KJV 1900
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

C. The Satisfaction in Death.

Because he walked with God in life he experienced the power of God in death. We will still face death but when we live by faith we may also experience the power of God in death.
