Today we start a brand new message sires as we finish out 2020 the right way. We are talking about, let me hear you say it out loud together as we read it off the screen “Christmas Is About Jesus.”

There is a lot of hype and celebration that comes along with this Christmas season.We have presents, school breaker, snow, for me its all about the egg nog, and everything that comes with the Christmas season. All of it good, but we here at NewSong kids also believes that most importantly Christmas is about Jesus.

In fact are power verse we want y’all to study and memorize the next three weeks is something maybe you have heard once or twice in church.

John 3:16 ESV

16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

God loved us so much he gave us the best gift in the world, his son, and during Christmas we as believers celebrate his birth. So i hope you are ready for today! Today, in the theme of Christmas is about Jesus, we look at how also Christmas is about Family. We will be looking at the birth of Jesus and how family was a huge part of this!

Lesson

Christmas is about family! Now before you begin to say it or thing it, YES even the family you don’t like. Christmas is about your grandparents, mom&dad, brother&sisters.

This morning I want y’all to ask yourself this simple question. Why didn’t God just send Jesus as an adult? Why a babe? Why even give him a mom or dad, a family?Now when I ask myself these questions the only thing that comes to mind is maybe God knows something about Family that we don’t. Maybe God knows that Family is important, and he wanted to show us that with his son Jesus

Family Is Important

When we look at the story of Jesus’s birth we find an important part of the story of Jesus found in Mary and Joseph. Now Mary did a lot of important things when it came to the birth of Jesus but for today I want to look at how God uses Joseph to protect his family.

Matthew 2:13–14 ESV

13 Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.” 14 And he rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed to Egypt

The reason why Family is so important is because it protect us from attack/being broken.

NOT EVERYONES FAMILY LOOKS THE SAME

The Church Is Also Your Family/You are a member of God’s Family

Now kind of like I have already said, your family does not have to just stop there. In fact the Bible many times calls us brother and sister. Now that dose not mean that we blood related, but we are apart of God’s family! So that means that are friends and church is important to us! It’s important to surround ourselves with friends and church family

THRESHOLD IS A FAMILY, NEWSONG CHURCH IS YOUR FAMILY

Ephesians 2:19 NLT

19 So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family.

Bigger but still breakable peace of wood // can’t be easily broken but still can

When we surround ourselves with family and friends we become stronger and not as small as a tooth-pic.

JESUS IS THE PERFECT FAMILY MEMBER

Jesus is the perfect family member. Before we know him he died for us and made it possible to be in the family of God. Jesus laid down in life and shared with us what was his. God the Father. We couldn’t get to God the Father without Jesus, but when we except him into our lives we then are covered and can we get access to God. With Jesus we can’t be broken
