Introduction

We live by the every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Let’s read through the whole Bible.

The scribe Shaphan brings the book of the Law to the king. (2 Kings 22:8-10)

After several years of evil kings rule over Judah, Josiah takes over, a Godly king.

The priest Hilkiah finds the book of the Law in the temple.

Hilkiah gives the book to Shaphan.

Shaphan reads the book of the Law.

Do we look for God’s Word?

The king Josiah responds to the reading of the Law. (2 Kings 22:11-13)

Josiah rents his clothes and is afraid.

The Word of God should bring conviction to our hearts.

Josiah commands them to inquire of the Lord concerning the book of the Law.

Huldah, the prophetess, responds to Josiah’s inquiry. (2 Kings 22:14-20)

The Lord says He will bring evil upon the land.

But the Lord says because Josiah repented, the Lord will not bring the evil during his lifetime.

King Josiah brings about reform in his kingdom. (2 Kings 23)
