Thankfulness is born in a proper relationship with the infinitely-wise God!
The foundation of my thankfulness:
My personal proper encounter with God (Rom. 1:21)
! When I am found by God (I cannot find God, unless He draws me to Him), the normal reaction is the praising thankfulness.
So: a thanksgiving and thanksliving mind is born as a reaction to my personal encounter with God Himself.
BUT if I don’t have this personal relationship with God, my thankfulness will be only a mere human theory! Check yourself: if it’s natural, you know Him! And you responded properly! What does it mean? Well, some people in the world are analyzing the universe and say: “Big Bang”. Others say: “Big God!”
I’m not sad because I see a not-thanksgiver in a family. I am sad because that person (boy or girl) doesn’t know God. If he/she would know God, he/she would be more and more a thanks-giver!
Soooooo...
The problem is not your mom or dad. The problem is your personal relationship with the Infinitely-Wise God.
The problem is not your not-painted-in-the-last-five-years room. The problem is your personal relationship with the Infinitely-Wise God.
The problem is not your not-that-old-but-not-new-enough car! The problem is your relationship with the infinitely-wise God!
How’s that?
Well, when we assume and recognise that God is Infinitely-Wise we assume He has a plan (this plan encompasses His will). And if He has a plan, that plan is perfect. Even though my old nature doesn’t want to accept that.
So: thankfulness is born in a proper relationship with the Infinitely-Wise God. Through faith in Jesus Christ. Let’s all go and properly look at the cross: let’s bow down and our praising-thankfulness shall raise!
Thus:
Your attitude toward your mom and dad will be changed. If the Infinitely-Wise God planned you to have them, that means the plan is good.
Your attitude toward your personal stuff: phone, room, bed, car, house, street, etc etc., will be changed. Know God! And you’ll give thanks.
