I Am What I Am

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.
I am going to age myself. How many of you remember black and white Saturday morning cartoons? I remember the first time our two was watching a black and white episode of a TV show… how did they take the color out? LOL.
Popeye the Sailor man has been a favorite of many. I'm Popeye the sailor man, I'm Popeye the sailor man, I yam what I yam and that's all what I yam I'm Popeye the sailor man. He would eat his spinach and become super human. I know. It's irreverent, probably sacrilegious, but whenever someone invokes the I AM, I can't help hearing a gruff-voice cackling, "Arf-arf-arf--well, blow me down!" Particularly when I read the passage we are going to use today from Paul’s letter to the Corinthians.
I have heard this and I admit, to calling it the gospel according to Popeye. I am sorry if I have blown your mind in all this or send you over the edge. I will repent later.
