NOW WE KNOW
NOW WE KNOW
Intro. - “What do you know?” is a common question with which we often greet one another . . . to which we as often
respond by confessing that we know”nothing new” or “not much” that is worth repeating. This, I know, is the way we
play the game . . . the question is not asked to be answered . . . But if iit were . . . how ould I answer? What do i now
that is “worth repeating?” Do I know who I am . . . or what I am worth . . . or why I am here? Listen!
God Is My Father! I Know Who I Am! I Am A Child Of God!
We were conceived by Him in love. And He brought us forth in His own image . . . to be His children . . . to be loved and
to love.
We were created for Him as well as by Him. Without Him the world becomes a “far country” in which we “hire out”
just for “husks” on which to live.
Only by returning to the Father do we discover we are not slaves but sons.
Christ Is My Savior! I Know What I Am Worth! I Am Worth Everything To God!
Worth everything to God? Yes! For this is precisely what it cost Him to come back to rescue me. God does not give
Himself for “nothing!”
Our wretchedness is not in our worthlessness; it is in the appalling fact that we’re disobedient and unfaithful even
though He has made know to us that we mean everything to Him . . . that He loves us . . . cares for us.
The Holy Spirit Is My Helper! I Know Why I Am Here! I Am Here To Be Used!
The Helper of Jesus’ promise is no one less that Jesus Himself (John 14:15, 18). Jesus is presnet with us to enable us
to continue His ministry.
Can our task as sons of God (Romans 8:14-17; Falatians 4:6-7) be something other than His task as the Son of God?
We do know something! . . . And it’s only the beginning (1 Cor. 13:12)!
