Faithfulness is about commitment. Commitment can be determined by what we are focused on. This year, there has been plenty of things other than Christ to be focused on. Like a bride should focus on her husband, so the church needs to focus on Christ this season.

What do you think is the most important problem facing the country today?

Recent trend according to a Gallup poll
November of 2020
Economy - 10%
Coronavirus - 28%
Poor/Lack of Leadership - 22%
All of these are legitimate concerns but, they are not what we have to find a way to focus on right now.
Colossians 3:2 ESV
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
Colossians 3:1–17 ESV
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all. Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
The world around us has such a way of distorting our vision. It takes our eyes off our Savior. This season we need to be able to set aside the concerns of this world and focus on the things of Christ. This is His season. We are grateful for his entrance into this world.

His entrance into the world provides our exit from it.

Do you want to escape the world around us? Turn your eyes toward Christ. Focus on the things of the Lord
Romans 8:5 ESV
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
Philippians 4:8 ESV
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Focus on what has been done not on what hasn't

Ephesians 1:7 ESV
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
Philippians 1:6 ESV
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:28 ESV
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28–31 ESV
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Focus on the Christ who created for us the ability to be called sons and daughters of God.
Celebrate Christ by focusing on what has been done instead of what hasn’t.
