Who’s Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf?
Who’s Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf?
25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
15 Terrors are turned upon me: they pursue my soul as the wind: and my welfare passeth away as a cloud.
After seven days of silence, (sometimes, rather than say something stupid, it is better to be quiet) Job opens his mouth and pronounces a curse, but not like the devil had hoped, on God, but on the day of his birth.
a normal life is sustained by food and drink but all that Job consumes are sighs and groans. His worst fears and greatest dread each day come to pass.
Job never contemplates suicide, although he doesn’t take his own life, he wishes that God would.
He never demands the restoration of his health and wealth as if they were his by right.
He never curses God.
Even the most godly people can be discouraged and depressed and on the verge of despair, never make a decision in that mentality.
Job longs for darkness, rather than rejoicing in the light…He longs for death and endless darkness when he is offered the gifts of light and life.
The devil sometimes afflicts a believer physically, but his greatest attack is in our minds.
If he can control, or affect the control tower of our beings, not only the body can be infected, but so can the mind and soul.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
If fear is a demon magnet, faith is a devil repellent.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Renew your mind
Jesus said man’s hearts would fail them because of fear
26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Breaking the Stronghold of Fear
Step 1 Eat right/ wash hands / good hygiene / clean your room
It was Jordan Petersen who treated people with cases of depression by first telling them to go home and clean your room!
Trust....Fear is the opposite of trust.
Stop worrying about tomorrow!
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Lean not on your own understanding....
Can’t trust in the Lord while leaning on your own understanding!
When a person truly casts their cares on the Lord, they relinquish ownership of that problem.
Faithful or Fearful
Almost every book in the Bible has a "fear not" in it. The enemy uses fear, but God would have His children to have faith (trust) in Him. Although Job was a righteous man and would not speak evil, he opened the door through thoughts of fear for the enemy to work in his life.
"For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came."
25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
26 I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.
In other words, he said, "I did what was right, but I was afraid that God would not take care of me." In contrast, Jesus challenges EVERY Believer to trust Him;
10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
Each day we can be defeated by darkness or find victory in the light of Christ.
***darkness brings fear, waiting for the dawning of the day (light brings courage and confidence)
we are headed toward death at 60 minutes per hour, or 1440 minutes a day.
Let us reason on how FEAR will thrive in the last days. Fear breeds fear. Fear kills FAITH. Your choices will determine if we walk in faith or we shall be crushed by FEAR?

YOU WILL CONQUER FEAR OR FEAR WILL CONQUER YOU
FEAR: the belief something bad is going to happen, sense of danger or pressure, implies anxiety, no courage, dread, an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to bring harm, hurt or pain, IRRITABILITY, irrational fears are called phobias, SCREAMING--- raised voice, high blood pressure,
ANXIETY: WORRY, NERVOUSNESS, uncertain outcome, concern, uneasiness, panic attacks,
WORRY: allow one’s mind to dwell or linger on difficulty or troubles, fret, agonize, panic, focus on potential problems, negative in nature, mental agitation/distress,
DREAD: extreme worry, frightened something bad is going to happen,ANTICIPATE WITH GREAT FEAR, fear, apprehension,
TERROR.
TORMENT: severe physical or mental suffering, agony, suffer.
PANIC ATTACK CAN APPEAR AS HEART ATTACKS!
WARNING: THE SMOKE DETECTOR?
I read a story about a man that invested in a SMOKE DETECTOR, as a matter of fact, he purchased two. He followed the directions and hung them in his house. The family tested and practice a fire drill. One day his wife burnt the bacon. He was asleep in his chair. The smoke detector when off and the man panicked. He got angry at the false alarm. A week or two later the family was sleepy one night, THE SMOKE DETECTOR made the deafening loud sound and the whole family was awaken. He dialed 911 and told the dispatcher his house was burning down. Several fire trucks were dispatched and the man was so embossed, there was NO FIRE at all?
Several false alarms later the man took the batteries out of the SMOKE DETECTOR. It appears the smoke detector was his enemy. He left them hanging but there were no batteries in them. One night the neighbor heard something to look and see his neighbor’s house was fully involved in a fire. Fire trucks came and all was lost. The man and his wife and children died with smoke inhalation and fire. SO SAD. SO SAD. In the investigation the fire marshal found two new smoke detectors with no batteries.
DEATH CAME BECAUSE THE DEVICE TO WARN THE FAMILY HAD NO POWER, BUT FEAR. ARE WE REALLY READY FOR THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS, OR WILL WE SEEK OUR OWN PLEASURE AND OVER RIGHT THE SENSE OF DANGER… JESUS IS COMING…
WE NEED TO REASON THE TRUTH. THERE ARE TWO KINDS OF FEAR…
1. HEALTHY FEAR : Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
THE PRIMARY CAUSE OF UNHAPPINESS IS NOT YOUR SITUATION, BUT YOUR THOUGHTS AND THINKING PATTERNS ABOUT YOUR SITUATIONS. We allow LONELINESS to breed fear and discouragement and our HOPE FLIES AWAY.
***Talking to Granny....she said someone called her and asked did she have family living near, was she by herself, etc. she sadi after they were done talking she was depressed, she didn’t normally think of those things...
Humans are the only varmints that design, build and sets the trap in our own head for SELF-DESTRUCTION
FDR said “We have nothing to fear, but fear itself” in the throes of the great depression.
Truth is, when people fear, they act irrationally, a virus comes to town and they buy every roll of toilet paper they can find.
***Your uncle lived large!!!!
Last days more and more fear, negativity
WHEN FEAR AND WORRY CRUSHES, WHY BE IN FEAR AND WORRY? I AM DRIVEN TO MY KNEES
Abraham Lincoln (Feb. 12, 1809 to April 15, 1865) was the 16th president of the USA. He was assassinated in 1865. Lincoln’s presidency was a TIME OF FEAR and WORRY. It was the TIME OF THE BLOODIEST season for the USA. Every death was an American. This time of fear and worry is considered the greatest MORAL and CONSTITUTIONAL and POLITICAL CRISIS for our nation. The nation was divided, unity was destroyed, and the issue of SLAVE TRADE, an economy that was near failure…
TWICE ROBERT E. LEE was within 20 miles of Lincoln and the White House. Several asked Lincoln how he could not bow to WORRY and FEAR.
Lincoln stated: I HAVE BEEN DRIVEN MANY TIMES TO MY KNEES BY THE OVERWHELMING CONVICTION THAT I HAD NO WHERE ELSE TO GO. MY OWN WISDOM AND THAT OF ALL ABOUT ME SEEMED INSUFFICIENT FOR THAT DAY.
I HAVE BEEN DRIVEN TO MY KNEES MANY TIMES WITH THE OVERWHELMING CONVICTION I HAD NO PLACE ELSE TO GO.
Since the amygdala controls the brain part that produces fear, we may experience a sudden fear (sudden fear)
25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
But we must recognize what is happening and respond with Faith.
Fear is the dark room where negatives are developed
Fear is corrosive
It destroys what it comes in contact with, and grows, when we allow fear to go unchecked, we become its willing victims.
Faith strengthens what it comes in contact with. It also grows, when we feed faith we become victors.
Tips to overcome fear?
Know and apply God’s Word
Fearing not being provided for? God’s Word said
19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
b. Fear the devil and demons?
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
c. Fear God won’t forgive you?
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
2. Avoid the negative crowd
Feeding on the unbeliever’s criticism of your church, their parents, the preacher, the fill in the blank....only leads to you becoming more like them.
Mark those that cause division. Find friends that don’t talk negative.
17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
Fear and Faith are both contagious!
God and the devil both have the same agenda, they want me to think like them.
Trust fully and be totally committed
22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Meditate on God’s Word
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Write down your goal and your vision will help destroy fear!
Worry and fear fade where there is praise and thanksgiving.
***Try Thanksgiving…depressed minister who saw the sign and got out of his pit.
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
Garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness...
Your story: Once upon a time.....
Fear will yield to faith.
