Why would I want to attend a church where:
- The pastor doesn’t care about the whole congregation, only certain ones.
- The pastor will not respond to any questions I ask by email.
- The pastor will not provide feedback on a subject when requested.
- The pastor, it would appear, has lied to me on at least two separate occasions.
- The pastor is not concerned with my spiritual growth.
- The pastor does not encourage me to spread the word of God by my articles.
- The pastor does not correct me if what I write in my articles is incorrect.
- The pastor shows no interest in my beliefs or ideas.
- The pastor shows no interest in what I write but the pastor at Plain Truth Ministries does.
- The pastor won’t even comment on my articles, but the pastor at Plain Truth Ministries publishes them.
- The pastor, it would appear, engages in foolish nonsense like drawing a big circle around my name on an article I wrote.
- The pastor does not do what the congregation decides on but does what he wants.
- The pastor should be comfortable in talking about any subject, i.e. 10% tithing
- The pastor does not seem to realize or care about the people that can’t afford to give to special offerings but boasts about what he is going to do.
- The pastor gives me the impression that attendance is only important when the offerings are not meeting budget.
- The pastor’s sermons neither give hope nor encouragement; they are more like Sunday school lessons.
- The pastor causes resentment when he accuses me (us) of not being committed to Christ. He has no right to judge because he has no way to know how committed a person is or isn’t to Christ.
- The pastor does not seem to like people having different perspectives than his.
- The pastor has lost all of my respect and trust in him as a pastor.
- The pastor in all likelihood sees me as a trouble maker, not someone worth bothering with.
- The pastor confirms my beliefs by 1) never asking Vonnie about how I am, 2) never asking Vonnie where I am, 3) never asking Vonnie why I don’t come to church, 4) never coming over or even sending an email asking why I’m not coming to church and if there is anything wrong. There are many people that do ask her about me, like Carl Wester for instance. He is concerned and cares enough about me to ask, the pastor doesn’t.
- There are many people in the church I care about; the pastor isn’t one of them.
