!! Satan’s Fall from Heaven to Earth

Many might ask, “What is Satan doing in heaven?”
               ~*Job 1:1-2:10 see him accusing Job in heave
               ~*He is an accuser of the brethren v. 10
               ~*We have the best lawyer that money can’t buy in Jesus
                           1 John 2:1  “And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the
Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
Satan’s names show his purpose:
1)      Satan basically means to oppose:  he opposes all that God does
2)      Devil:  slanderer:  he slanders and tempts men to do evil
3)      Great dragon:  A formidable foe
4)      Old serpent:  Reminds me of Gen. 3 and his deceitfulness
 
Encouraging passage of Scripture:  Luke 22:31-32
 
 
Three things happen when Satan is cast out:
1.
There is praise in heaven
2.      There is persecution on earth
3.
There is the protection of God on His people

There is Praise in Heaven vv.
10-12

There is a loud voice in heaven announcing what has taken place
Sounds to me like a victory announcement

1)      Good news:  They have overcome
~*By the blood of the lamb:  all glory is given to the lamb
~*Word of their testimony
~*Loved not their own lives
 
2)      We overcome in same way:

Refers to their spoken witness.
Why were they martyrs?
They couldn’t shut up!
 
Demonstrated their genuine faith
 
~*Loved not their own lives:
-Apostles in Acts were beaten:  they counted privilege to be worthy to suffer for Christ
 
-Paul said, “to live is Christ and to die is gain”
 
-How could anyone with this attitude be stopped?
+In a negative sense that is problem today fighting terrorism
 
+In a positive sense imagine what could be accomplished today if Christians had that attitude?
+Satan is defeating many today with people putting their lives ahead of Christ

There is Persecution on the Earth vv.
12b – 13

Satan comes to the earth with a vengeance
Angry at God:  great wrath
Knows that his time is short:  gets right to work

Satan went right after God’s chosen people Israel
Last time saw woman was Israel through which Christ came
Hates them:  brought forth the Savior:  Lamb
 
3.
Satan came with a flood:  v.
15
Worst persecution ever
Watched Schindler’s list:  horrible movie which I am told shows much of the reality of Jewish holocaust:  Nothing compared to what is to come
 
4.
Satan came in anger
At the remnant:  144,000
Kept the commandments:  word of God
Have the testimony of Jesus Christ

There is the protection of God vv.
14, 16
 
1.
God took her to a special place
2.      God gave her supernatural care
3.      God caused the earth to protect her v. 16
4.      God continued to protect her:  Time (1), times (2), and a half time (1~/2) = 3 ½ years
