Luke 22:14-20

The Purpose of the Lord’s Supper

We are to look backward and remember the Lord’s sacrifice for us.  (Luke 22:19-20)

We are to look inward and examine ourselves.  (1 Corinthians 11:27-28)

Ø      As to our relationship, have you been born-again?

Ø      As to our discipleship, are you living in obedience to His commands?

Ø      As to our fellowship, are you walking in fellowship with other believers?

We are to look forward and anticipate the Lord’s coming.  (1 Corinthians 11:26)

Ø      This is the purpose of the Advent season.

Ø      So let us begin this hour looking for and living in the light of His sure return.

The Observance of the Supper

We should seek to serve those around us by offering the elements to the person or persons seated next to us.

Let us now receive the bread and the cup with thankful hearts.
