Hebrews 11:4; Genesis 4:
Introduction
Abel is God’s first hero of Faith!
He was a common man, a sinful man a man just like you and me.
If Abel can be a hero of faith so can I.
What made Abel a hero of faith?
Not his ability but his availability
Not his scholarship but his relationship
Not who he was but whose he was.
It was all by faith!
The Bible says that by faith he offered a better sacrifice.
The Bible says that by faith he was commended as a righteous man.
The Bible says that by faith he still speaks though he is dead.
\\ 1A.
Abel’s worship
He brought the proper sacrifice.
(Genesis 4:4a)
It was a bloody sacrifice
*Hebrews 9:22 *And according to the Law, /one may /almost /say/, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
It was a substitutionary sacrifice  (Ephesians 1:7)
He came with the proper attitude.
(Genesis 4:4b)
Abel did not produce His sacrifice it came from God.
Abel’s sacrifice was based on His faith in God not the work of his hands.
2A.
Abel’s Witness
A witness of God’s grace
Abel did not deserve for God to accept him or his sacrifice
It was God who declared that Abel was righteous.
A witness of God’s faithfulness
“he is dead, he still speaks”
