where does your faith stand?

tonight for just a little while i want to talk on the subject of faith and i want to look at several different characters in the bile of how there faith was tested and where it stood. but first let me give you the definition of faith.

faith is having confidence, in what we hope for and the assurance that the Lord is working, even though we can not see it.

first i want to take a look in the book of (Gen 22:3-13) at a man by the name of Abraham, and how God tested his faith when he commanded him to offer Issac back to God as a sacrifice. and we find that with Abraham being faithful, in doing what God had asked we find in the verses that the Lord provides a ram caught in the thicket to be made as sacrifice.

second i want to look at the story for just a brief moment about shadrack meshack and abindigo. whic is found in the book of Daniel chapter three that the king Nebuchadnezzar had made a decrrie that and image of him be made out of gold and that every one in the land at a certain time when the musical instruments played they would have to bow down to it and those who didn't not obey would be tossed into the fiery furnace. and we see towards the end of the story that the three boys do not bow down the the image and it makes the king very up set and he has them thrown in the fire and after he has them pout in the furnace he begins to notice something about it the there is not three men in the fire but four and the fourth one was in the image of the son of man. (explain rest of story)

finally i want to look at the last character by the man name of job. lets look for a few min at all he went through and how his faith was tested. when satan asked god if he could temp job and told god he could make him cures your name and die. anbd he took everything but his life from him from his crops, to his livestock, even down to his children. and even his own wife told him why dont you just cures God and die. but the faith that job had in god was farm more than all that his family and friends told him to do.

so tonight i ask you where is your faith placed righ now at the moment?

is in a family member, the gov, the president, i hope that its in christ tonight because when all else fails and theirs nothing we feel we can do he is always going to be right there with you every step of the way.
