Led By The Spirit (2)

I brought some things to show you tonight. These things have something in common - After I show you each thing - I am going to ask you what is the common theme:

What is the common theme? TRANSFORMATION, Change

All of these THINGS have changed or transformed over time

PEOPLE can and will change/transform as well — You’ve changed — you entered this world as a baby and now you are the age you are today — you’ve changed

I want to talk with you tonight about how to be led by the Spirit, which involves change.

When I think of a man that was lead by the Spirit, and his whole life changed, paul comes to mind.

He was a man that hated the Christian church, and the became the most well known Christian missionary of all time.

We are gonna look at a portion of Scripture written by Paul, he wrote a letter to the Roman believers that helps us see how to be lead by the Spirit..

In fact that is what we are going to focus on

How Are We Led by the Spirit?

I believe Paul tells us in

Romans 12:2 NLT

2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

What are some behaviors and customs of the world that we copy?

Mindset - the way you think

RESULT:

Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing, and perfect.

this is our result

To fulfill our purpose or will in life, we must allow God change us.

Change how we talk, how we view other people, how we treat other people.

See we can not know what God wants in our life until we allow him to change us.

If we are filled up with what the world dictates, then we are only hearing what the world is wanting and saying. If this happens how are we able to hear from God and know what he wants and what he is saying.

See when you fill up your life with how tik-tok says you should life, or Disney says you should live, or you listen to all these other sources on how you should live. It becomes more difficult to distinguish between what God’s purpose for your life is verses what the world says your purpose is. The Bible says in Matthew 7:7 “seek and you will find” If you look for God you will find him.

What are some things that we can do to seek God?

What are ways we can change to seek Christ more

The ability to transition from our worldly views, into seeking Christ is important with our walk with Him. We have to be able to do things intentionally to look after him. we have to take time to Pray, and listen to him. We need to take our time and seek after him in the Bible. We need to take time and have fellowship with other believers.

See when we do things like this then we can gather more of an understanding of what our purpose is. When we seek after God we will Find him, When we ask what God wants us to do he will answer. We need to be able to fully devote ourselves to Christ and listen to what the Spirit has to say.

See when we have a changed mindset, and a changed attitude, things can become more clear in our releightionship with God. When we give all our attention to Him, admit all the chaos in the world, we can still hear him. when we hear him then we are able to know our purpose through him. we are able to see the plan God has in our life.

To sum up we need to change our mindset to know God’s plan for us. we need to be able to devote time for Him, and full heartedly seek Christ. Now I am not saying that we NEED TO cause it is more of you wanting to seek him. Christ does not source you into anything, he just simply offers it to you.
