Daniel 6:18-24 (KJV)
Da 6:18 Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were instruments of musick brought before him: and his sleep went from him.
19 Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.
20 And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
21 Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.
22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
23 Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.
24 And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.
Thy God, - Who was this God? It was the God who made heaven and earth - God Almighty or The GOD WHO IS ABLE. One of God’s names tells us that He is able to do whatever He pleases, a name He first revealed to Abraham. He had promised to make Abraham the father of a great nation, and naturally Abraham needed a son in order for that promise to come true. The whole idea was preposterous. Abraham was ninety nine years old and Sarah was ninety, and humanly speaking there was no possible way they could have a son. But God helped them to believe it by the way He introduced Himself that day. “Now when Abram was ninety nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, ‘I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless’” (Genesis 17:1).El Shaddai is God Almighty, the God who can do anything He wants to do, even rejuvenate dead wombs and give babies to couples in their nineties! He is almighty, all-powerful. That name is used forty-seven more times in the Old Testament and never of anyone but God. It has a New Testament equivalent, used ten times, which means literally “to hold all things in one’s power.” Scripture is punctuated with references to God’s omnipotence from beginning to end. He is the Lord strong and mighty (Psalm 24:8). Power belongs to Him (Psalm 62:11). “Great is our Lord, and abundant in strength” (Psalm 147:5). I want us to understand this God of Daniel's was not just another God - HE WAS GOD ALMIGHTY.Whom Thou Servest Continually - Daniel had a record of faithfulness. God has a record of Faithfulness.Able to deliver - Oh I'm glad that there came out of that darkness of the lion's den a voice that was no doubt wrapped in wonder and amazement, as he cried out, "The Lord sent an angel to stop the lion's mouths." YES GOD WAS ABLE TO DELIVER ME!!!God is ABLE - REALLY REALLY ABLE for whatever need you have. Listen to this
1. Romans 4:20-21—able to keep his word--he didn’t stagger at the promises of God through unbelief, but believed that he that promised was faithful to perform it.
God is not a man that he should lie—let God be true and every man a liar—Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness..
God is able to keep his word—if you get a promise from God hold on to it—it may tarry in it’s coming, but it will come—once he says it, it is completed—no worry, no fear, no doubt should enter in—that is the only thing that keeps people from entering into the promises of God
All his promises are yes and amen.. His word will not return void, it will accomplish what it sets out to do.
3. Ephesians 3:20—able to do more—
Exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think—
n he is able to do more for you than you could ever do for yourself
n he is able to do more than you can even ask for—above all you could even wish for—he has things reserved for you that are greater than your biggest imagination
n above—that is why he can do more—he is above it all—even though we might be looking through the clouds, he is high above, he knows the outcome before the beginning of the thing
n he has already informed legions of angels to encamp around you to insure your blessings from being stolen away by the enemy.
4. 2 Timothy 1:12—he is able to keep accurate records—
there are no viruses that can attack his heavenly records, they are signed and sealed in the blood—every good work shall receive his blessing—
if you send up prayers, he makes notes on them, and sends your miracle right on time.
Your labor is not in vain, whatsoever you sow to the spirit, of the spirit you shall reap everlasting..
5. Hebrews 7:25—able to save you completely
To the uttermost--- one preacher said, he saved me from the gutter most to the uttermost..
He didn’t just barely save anyone—when he does a work he does it completely—you can have a blessed assurance—we can know that we know that we know that we’re saved..
The devil is the accuser of the brethren—all guilt and condemnation comes from the accuser—but we must not do spite to the spirit of grace
6. Jude 24-25--- able to keep us from falling—
From time to time people won’t surrender when they feel a tug from the spirit of God because they say, I am not strong enough, I know I can’t live the life—but Jesus can live the life through us—he can keep us from falling
We don’t have to live in defeat, there is power in the name of Jesus, there is power in the blood of Jesus—I have hid his word in my heart that I might not sin against him..
It’s not by might, it’s not by power, but by my spirit saith the Lord—We can’t win in our flesh, but he is able to give us power over sin, over the flesh,
Ye will receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon thee
