Peace=Restoration

Peace
Peace was never really an option. From a very young age, I was taught peace was unattainable. Struggle and war are the standard or, at best, inevitable. Usually, violence was the best way to solve problems.
And I would be willing to bet that most of us feel that way. Peace is a great notion. A far off honorable ideal. But it will never exist this side of eternity. Our life, this world, shows us that peace is really and truly impossible. We have wars, rumors of wars, countries at war with themselves. And may God help you if you have an unpopular opinion. But what if the way we think about peace isn’t really the peace God speaks about in the Bible. God hasn’t promised the peace we see in our heads. Maybe, the peace we so desperately seek is available to us in a very unexpected way.

Shalom. Eriene. Taking something that is complex and broken then making it whole. Sounds a little like life, doesn’t it? Our world seems so complicated and broken right now. Everyone seems to be mad at everyone else. And it’s very easy to feel like no one can put it back together. The brokenness of our world goes so much deeper that circumstances and situations. It’s a heart issue. Our heart, our desires, are in contradiction to God. That’s why we need the Prince of peace, Jesus. He came to restore our broken relationship with God. In fact, God’s goal has always been to restore not just our relationship with him, but with each other.
'The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, Thus you shall bless the people of Israel: you shall say to them, The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. “So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.”'
Numbers 6:22-27
How does this affect your life? Knowing that Jesus came to restore our relationship with God! How does that affect our relationships with those around you?
