Fight - Contend For The Faith

Nehemiah 4:14 (KJV) 14 And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.

Today is Father's day - I didn't say much about it this morning - but I do want to talk about it tonight.

I feel like we need to hear a message like this every once in a while

Whether we like to hear it or not - our homes, our families, are under attack.

Satan would like to take our homes and tear them apart.

Here they were trying to rebuild trying to get things in order - and there was always someone coming by trying to confuse, tear down or even cause bodily harm.

What was the challenge given???

To FIGHT! Now I don't like fights, I don't like violence, I don't like seeing people get hurt, I don't like war.

But as a Christian we are in a war, and sometimes the battle gets severe.

We are told to stand like men - like soldiers. To fight the good fight

Here was are exhorted to fight for our families.

Now perhaps our houses are not under attack, but our homes are -

Satan is doing what he can to destroy

I want to encourage our men, our fathers to stand up and fight for them.

There are somethings we as Western Christians miss in the Word of God. The first is that it was always taught that Mothers were to be the one at home teaching and instilling truths. But that flies directly in the fact of what the Bible says.

It was the Fathers who were told to be telling their children from morning to night, to paint it on their door posts, to train up the child.

We need to fight against this intoxicated culture

We need to fight against this immoral Infiltration - (Heard statistic yesterday that one pornographic site said they received 60 million unique hits every day. To put that in better perspective there are only 300 million Americans. YouTube only receives about 30 million unique hits every day.

God help us to protect our kids and families. If you are struggling with this I want you to know God has mercy, forgiveness, and will help you get free - but it will destroy you if you don't turn to God.

We need to fight against break down of our families - There are some things that are just never an option. I used to always chuckle when I heard Dr. Dobson say that in their marriage "Divorce was never an option. Murder occasionally but never divorce."

Satan would like to take your family and just rip it apart - Men lets stand up and say - NOT ON MY WATCH. I'M Going to fight for my family

I'm going to do whatever it takes. There may be other things that want to sneak into your home, want to break down the barriers and safety walls of your home -

But let me give you the same truth Nehemiah gave to his men:

Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.
