John 1:1–8 CSB
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 All things were created through him, and apart from him not one thing was created that has been created. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 That light shines in the darkness, and yet the darkness did not overcome it. 6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify about the light, so that all might believe through him. 8 He was not the light, but he came to testify about the light.

1. The power of Unity in The Word

Creation was created by the Uncreated One
The Word is in the Presence of God
Genesis 1:26 NIV84
26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
The Word and Father are not identical but They are One
Unity in the Father and Son
John 10:30 CSB
30 I and the Father are one.”
John 17:20–21 CSB
20 “I pray not only for these, but also for those who believe in me through their word. 21 May they all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us, so that the world may believe you sent me.
Our testimony carries weight when we are in unity
God bestows His blessing in unity
Psalm 133 NIV84
A song of ascents. Of David. 1 How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! 2 It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down upon the collar of his robes. 3 It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.
We were created to worship in unity
We were created to live in unity

2. The power of Creativity in The Word

There is power in our words
When a word is spoken it goes into action
The word that is spoken goes to fulfill its duty
When Isaac blessed Jacob, it was his word that blessed him
If Isaac had recieved a possession that possession could be repossessed which is what Esau wanted his father Isaac to do; however, Isaac spoke the word of blessing you can’t repossess a word spoken
Isaiah 55:10–11 NIV84
10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
The Word of God will always accomplish its task
God said, “Let there be light” and there was light
The Word had to be fulfilled and is being fulfilled
God spoke a creative Word over your life
That creative Word is working in you
Some doors will close because you don’t fit in those places
Some relationships will be moved because they aren’t going where you are going
You are uncomfortable because the Creative Word of God is still working in you
Something new is happening
Creativity is coming

3. The power of Life in The Word

Proverbs 18:21 NIV84
21 The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
You can speak life and you can speak death
Speak life to lifeless situations
Speak life to dead dreams
Speak life to dry marriages
Ezekiel 37:3–5 NIV84
3 He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “O Sovereign Lord, you alone know.” 4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.
Jesus spoke to dead Lazarus and said, “Lazarus come forth”
Lazarus had to come forth because The Word commanded him
The Word has authority
A man in authority told Jesus you don’t have to come to my house, just say the word and my servant will be healed
The Word can bring life to the sick
Just say the word and it will be done
Give life to your dream, say the word
Let the weak say, “I am strong”

4. The power of Commitment in The Word

God is for you and never against you
He is the God who is always there for you
Hebrews 13:5–6 NIV84
5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” 6 So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
He promised to never leave you
God is the Promise Keeper
He means what He says and says what He means
You must be a person of your word
Matthew 5:37 NIV84
37 Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.
Don’t over promise and under deliver
Learn to follow through with your commitments
You said, “I’ll serve you Lord” then serve Him
Don’t let the circumstances keep you from keeping your word
Be doers of the Word
James 1:22 NIV84
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
Just do it
Dream it, Speak it, Do it

5. The power of Salvation in The Word

We are witnesses to the Light
He is the Light
If you have Jesus in you, you are the light
Matthew 5:14–16 NIV84
14 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Your life should be the light that illuminates dark places
Don’t place a shade on your light
Don’t live like those who live without Jesus
If you don’t shine for Him, you are in darkness
John 3:20 NIV84
20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
Do not do evil
Don’t listen to the flesh
Galatians 5:19–21 CSB
19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, moral impurity, promiscuity, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatreds, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions, 21 envy, drunkenness, carousing, and anything similar. I am warning you about these things—as I warned you before—that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
The practice of evil leads to separation from God
1 Corinthians 6:9–11 NLT
9 Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, 10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. 11 Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
The light exposes the evil
Darkness can’t live in the light
Luke 8:16–18 NLT
16 “No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house. 17 For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all. 18 “So pay attention to how you hear. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them.”
