Jesus is the Greatest Gift

Because He filled the greatest need!
Luke 2:4–14 NKJV
Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
God sent His son to save us!
Our greatest need goes deep. It is deep and complicated.
The Sting of death and sin runs deep
It wrecks us!
Look around at humanity and you don’t have to look far to see how great our need is.
People hurting on the inside
People hurting people
brokenness and destruction
families torn apart, children
No Peace! No safety!
The Gift is a Promise from God
A fulfilled promise builds trust
A broken promise crushes the heart!
People break promises
Jesus restores covenant!
The covenant Jesus has for you is enough!
Don’t make promises you can’t keep.
Matthew 5:33–37 NKJV
“Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.’ But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
Say Yes or No you will do it and then do it.
Understand that even if man has the will and the desire to do what he said he would do, sometimes he or she is unable to do so. Sometimes people fail.!
Therefore do not put your trust in men but in God!
Jesus came to heal our hearts from broken promises! (Gideon, Lazarus, )
Jesus came to restore our trust in God’s promises for us!
God is restoring our relationship with Him through Jesus. Jesus fulfills the expectation
Jesus is here today to restore your trust in the Father
You can trust God to do what He promised
Gods promises aren’t dependent on our abilities but on His word.
His word doesn’t come back void.
When God speaks it happens. Exactly as He said it would happen it happened
Why?
The Gift comes with Miracles
Isaiah 7:14 NKJV
Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
Jesus coming in the flesh was a miracle
The impossibility of God becoming man!
The impossibility that from a small town The savior would come!
The impossibility of Mary conceiving a child!
Luke 1:35 NKJV
And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
The fulfilment of God’s promises happens through miracles!
Every time in the bible the promise of God was fulfilled in a miraculous way!
Your miracle is in the promise of God!
Jesus is here to bring us back to God and the way back is through miracles
There are things that we cannot change
God gives us His gift and miracles happen
Our hearts are healed, our minds set to peace, Joy restored and fullness of life.
The Gift brings with it Blessings
The Gift keeps on giving
The promise the miracle and now the blessing follows!
Now blessing follow the gift, You will become a blessing to all those around you!
Isaiah 9:6 NKJV
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
