Luke 1:46–56 NKJV
46 And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, 47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. 48 For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant; For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. 49 For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name. 50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation. 51 He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He has put down the mighty from their thrones, And exalted the lowly. 53 He has filled the hungry with good things, And the rich He has sent away empty. 54 He has helped His servant Israel, In remembrance of His mercy, 55 As He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and to his seed forever.” 56 And Mary remained with her about three months, and returned to her house.

Marys' Song of Praise

1. all she is praises the Lord

Luke 1:46–47 NKJV
46 And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, 47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
Her soul Magnifies The Lord (the Father).
Can you make God greater than He already is? No! He is as great as He is ever going to be right now.
so, how do you Magnify The Creator?
in my focus. how many things compete for our attention?
work / money
relationships/ marriage/ Child.
the future/ fear.
politics.
Mary certainly had things to worry about:
her marriage.
her Family the reputation.
her future.
Rather than worry she trusts the Lord.
Her soul (her emotional self) focuses on the Lord.
how do you need to clear the noise out of life so that you can magnify the Lord?
guilt of your past?
wishing life was different?
stuck in the past?
wishing that you where reconciled with someone.
Her Spirit rejoices in God my savior.
she rejoices after she magnifies.
we can control our emotions.
whatever you magnify that's what you will soak in.

2. He is mighty to save.

Luke 1:49–52 NKJV
49 For He who is mighty has done great things for me, And holy is His name. 50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation. 51 He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He has put down the mighty from their thrones, And exalted the lowly.
looking at verse (49) what great things has the Lord done for you?
an you list them?
how easy is it for us to forget what God done for us.
how easy is it for us to ask why is he not doing this or that?
when we challenge The Lord like that what does it do against our serenity?
(verse 50) mercy on those that fear him from generation to generation. this has to do with obedience.
obeying the Lord. this means walking according to His word and chasing after His will.
Mary and Joseph gave all to fallow The Lord.
repetition.
“From generation” how many of us are here because of someone in our family tree? its partly due to their faithfulness that you are there.
(51) He is not worried about the things that we are worried about. “He has scattered the Proud in the imagination of their heart.”
(52) the mighty down from their thrones.

3. He cares for the Poor.

Luke 1:53–54 NKJV
53 He has filled the hungry with good things, And the rich He has sent away empty. 54 He has helped His servant Israel, In remembrance of His mercy,
this is why we care for the poor.
Matthew 26:11 NKJV
11 For you have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always.

4. Jesus is the fulfillment of prophecy

Luke 1:54–56 NKJV
54 He has helped His servant Israel, In remembrance of His mercy, 55 As He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and to his seed forever.” 56 And Mary remained with her about three months, and returned to her house.
