V1- 11 The Fifth Trumpet

· A star that had fallen from sky to the earth. Who is this star? Angel good or bad?

· He is given a key to the abyss.. What is the Abyss? Bottomless Pit. Where is it and what purpose does it serve? The subterranean abode of demonic hordes.

· The abyssos is a prison for certain demons (Luke 8:31 , 2 Peter 2:4 , andJude 6). This is probably the same place as this bottomless pit. More generally, this place is considered the realm of the dead, the same as Hades (Romans 10:7 ).

V2 Smoke rises from the pit and Locusts come out of the smoke.

· Power like scorpions.

· They are told to not harm plants – obviously not regular locusts.

· They harm anyone not sealed by God.

· They don’t kill, they torture for 5 months.

· The sting is agonizing like a scorpions sting, men will want to die but cannot.

V7 – 11 Locust Horde is described. They are horrifying and loud.

Their leaded is Apollyon or Destroyer.
