Isaiah 7:14 NIV

14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

The Good News this Christmas is that there is a God. He rules in Heaven. He has always been there. We can know for sure this Christmas that he is there because at one point in Human History he can here to be with us. Jesus is God and he is still with us today through His spirit.

This Christmas we celebrate how he stepped into History and that he promised he would never leave us

God made everything

Nehemiah 9:6 NIV

6 You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.

God walked with Adam and Eve in the Garden

Genesis 3:8 NIV

8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

But from the beginning every person rejected God.

God delivered the People of Israel From Egypt

God Dwelled with the people in the dessert

God gave the people of Israel The Land

But they rejected him

Right through this story God was present with His People through His Spirit

Exodus 29:45–46 NIV

45 Then I will dwell among the Israelites and be their God. 46 They will know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them out of Egypt so that I might dwell among them. I am the Lord their God.

The God Who is Here

There is a great promise in Is 7:14

14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

Imanuel means litterally God is with us.

Jesus was fully God and fully man

Jesus is God

Colossians 2:9 NIV

9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,

God with us

He enjoyed the joys we enjoy, weddings, parties, friendship, family, work and lesuire.

but he also experienced the pain we experience.

wept tears, suffered paind an humiliation, rejection hunger and thirst. He experienced loss.

Unlike us however he did not reject God

not divided from God,

he loved others even though they rejected him

Because of this he is the only one who can repair divisions

died on a cross

Hebrews 12:2 NIV

2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

He does not leave us alone

he lived died and rasied from the dead.

Went to be seated in heaven.

He sent his Holy spirit.
