Born to Rise

Throughout our time observing advent, we have asked what should be expected of this coming King, this promised Messiah.

We have asked what He would be like.

What His Kingdom would be like.

What He would accomplish.

We have looked at the sinless nature of Jesus, and just this past Sunday have focused on His redemptive work on the cross.

Tonight, we turn our attention to the resurrection of Jesus, noting that this child whose birth we celebrate would not only be born to die, but also born to rise.

We will see how this work of resurrection has been promised in Psalm 16, but we will also spend the bulk of our time together noticing the implications of a Messiah who would die and rise again.

Stated differently, What has God accomplished through the raising of His Son Jesus from the dead and how might we find ourselves impacted this Christmas season?
