Jesus

Jesus is the perfect example of love, compassion, and sacrifice. He came to this earth and lived out His life for others. Everything He did was/is for everyone else. Ultimately, He died on the cross for everyone. He came to this earth so you could have eternal life through and with Him. While He was on earth, He lived out the perfect example of love and showed His disciples how to love and sacrifice for others as well. This model of love has been carried on for almost 2,000 years.
John 3:16 NASB95
16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8 NASB95
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
1 John 4:19 NASB95
19 We love, because He first loved us.
Many of you have heard of Jesus and may have read about Him. But some of you are not living your lives the way He designed you to live. And, you may be saying, “Why should I follow Jesus? He was just a good man or a prophet; but He’s not God or the Son of God.”
2 Timothy 3:16–17 NASB95
16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
The Bible tells us all Scripture is inspired by God. Or God-Breathed. Scripture tells us Jesus is the Son of God and is God. So, either all of Scripture is true or none of it is. It cannot be partially true.
In the OT, there are over 400 prophecies concerning the Messiah. Thus far, Jesus has fulfilled 332 of them. The rest deal with future events. Out of all the beliefs in the World, not one has had a predictive prophecy come true. NOT ONE! Jesus fulfilled 332 of them. So far, Jesus is 100% for predictive prophecies fulfilled. That’s a good record! Let’s get to the fun part…
Isaiah 9:6 NASB95
6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 7:14 NASB95
14 “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.
Isaiah 11:1–2 NLT
1 Out of the stump of David’s family will grow a shoot— yes, a new Branch bearing fruit from the old root. 2 And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
Matthew 1:18–25 NASB95
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit. 19 And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her, planned to send her away secretly. 20 But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 “She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” 22 Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: 23Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.” 24 And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife, 25 but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and he called His name Jesus.
Paul, a Pharisee, extremely familiar with the Old Testament said,
Galatians 4:4 NET
4 But when the appropriate time had come, God sent out his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
The Scriptures testify about Jesus -
John 5:39 NASB95
39 “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me;
These are a brief sampling of the prophecies Jesus performed.
Peter Stoner, a mathematician figured out the probability for fulfilling prophecies. First, you might be able to take 1 prophecy and attribute to someone. (Is. 53.2 – No Beauty).
8 Fulfilled Prophecies – 1 in 10 to the 17 power 100,000,000,000,000,000
48 Fulfilled Prophecies – 1 in 10 to the 157 power (19M x 19M x 19M)
Closing - Remember, Jesus fulfilled 332 prophecies. The odds of this are beyond measure. Jesus came to the earth to live a human life amongst His creation. He did this because of His love. Not because He had to, but because He chose to. This Christmas, celebrate what He has done for you. In a world fraught with chaos there is only hope in Him, not in a President, not in a vaccine, not in a job, etc. Jesus’ birth was for each one of you. If you believe in Him and ask for forgiveness of your sins, you will be saved and with Him for eternity. It is a true change of heart.
John 1:1–14 ESV
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. 8 He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light. 9 The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
