Ecclesiastes is rambling and depressed

Human self-sufficiency (naming a new year, trying harder, changing politicians, propping up old institutions)

The Observation

God has ordained time as Creator (seven days)

God is sovereign

The Response

God is the only one in control

Trust not in ourselves, but in God

Jesus is Lord of nature and of time. (Stilling of storm, at right hand of God where through him all things exist)
