Covenant: Our Inheritance 110605

Abram came out of UR of the Chaldees, Genesis 11:31, Eastons’s Bible Dictionary, Ur was THE port of Babylonia, Genesis 12:1-3 get out of there, this was the best of Babylon

The best of what you have is the exact reason that you cannot have me and my covenant

This is the same position for us, God’s best is different from what we consider best, spirit versus the soul, the soul of man can be quite good, but it will never be divine as the spirit

How does what God did with Abram effect me??? Galatians 3:28-29 heirs & promise, this covenantal promise is not just to Abram, but to all the promises made by God to Abram’s seed!!!

Genesis 15:11 and the fowls, Abram was to be diligent and alert in this covenant, The LORD was asking Abram to separate himself from this world and its ways

Verse 12 and the deep sleep is the Unconditional nature of the covenant, Abram and us did not have a part in the ratification of the covenant

Verse 17 a smoking furnace (judgment) and a burning lamp (light of the world), this is the pre incarnate Jesus walking among the halves, heaven has no blood to shed, YET

The sacrifice is consumed, it is accepted, when our flesh is on the altar it is also consumed as a place of death, it is accepted, and it is replaced with more of The LORD

Bind the sacrifice with cords, Psalm 118:27…we are the sacrifice

Covenant between God and man is cut on the earth! Man while on this earth must choose to obey the covenant, the covenant is Unconditional but the blessings are conditional, man and man on this earth must choose to come under the covenant

Verse 18 and the river EUPHRATES, The LORD is setting the boundaries of His covenant land, during Solomon’s reign these were the boundaries, David represents the Tabernacle, not permanent, Solomon represents the Temple, permanence of the kingdom, of rest and peace

Verses 19-22 are those who will be displaced to establish this kingdom and covenant, as we are still seeing today, now Israel is giving back part of their land!!! Gaza

Having our minds renewed to the reality of the Old Covenant blessings, puts reality, puts a tangible perspective on the New Covenant

Because of Abram we are hooked backwards into the blessing
