We are a Royal Priesthood

1 Peter 2:5-9 , Revelation 1:6, Revelation 5:10
1 Peter 2:5–9 ESV
you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it stands in Scripture: “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.” So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,” and “A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.” They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Revelation 1:6 ESV
and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Revelation 5:10 ESV
and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth.”
Just as God told Priests to do tabernacle in a specific pattern, our Pattern is Jesus.
Priests minister to God – and to the people
As Christians, we are given the privilege of entering His presence, and the power of His listening ear- and so the Duty to bring our issues and that of our people to him.
The priesthood was a physical foreshadow of a spiritual reality
Jesus is our High Priest
Hebrews 8:1-8
Hebrews 8:1–8 ESV
Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the Lord set up, not man. For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; thus it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer. Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, since there are priests who offer gifts according to the law. They serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things. For when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, “See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown you on the mountain.” But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second. For he finds fault with them when he says: “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah,
The Tabernacle was a physical foreshadow of a spiritual reality
The Tabernacle Prayer is a helpful tool for prayer. It is not a magic spell to get what you want from a cosmic vending machine. It is not the only way to worship or pray, it doesn’t mean you can’t experience God’s presence unless you go through these rituals. It is a tool to help take you physically past yourself and your worldly and satanic influence and fully enjoy the presence of God.
