In all talks-Christianity makes the most sense….

Logic/Reason-making sense of it all

-refer to Spock..start with story of house being broken into….

-Ever thought about why you believe what you believe?  And is it true? Walk to talk about reasons for believing what we believe as Christians over next few weeks…first talk the use of reason to seek truth…

-Every person has a worldview.  They are all different.  My worldview goes something like this…My name is Scott Wildenberg. I am 38 years old and I live in Cannon Falls MN.  I have been married 16 years to the most wonderful, intelligent, gorgeous woman in the world. I am the pastor of True North church…which is now 2 years old and is the best church in town. I believe in God-all powerful, etc…Jesus..etc.

-You may agree on some of those things, but not on all…we are all different. But who is right?

-Some would say it doesn’t matter who is right…relativism/pluralism…all OK

-That may be true for some things (my opinion of my wife/church…favorite color, etc).  But is does matter for some.(Who is God…not all religions agree)

-We believe the Bible gives the most accurate picture of God(talk about why later) and that God wants us to know TRUTH. Jesus…I am the way, the truth and the life…Seek and you shall find…

…Is it logical that there is one truth on some things…

….so what is the truth?  Who is God? Which is Jesus….is this true or not?  Ok to ask…

-Need to seek truth.  Only way to really do that is interact with others…discover what their worldview says and find out where you disagree. When we do find disagreement, people will always find a ways to fit it into current view…but eventually truth wins out…can’t maintain a lie

-Involves asking questions…answering doubts…

-But what about faith? Aren’t  we just supposed to believe? Yes…in fact all people do have some basis for believing their view to be correct…..Eventually going to face doubters…especially kids when go to college.

We need logic to show us where our beliefs are false….

Biblical worldview-most logical, has stood the test of time

Look at other views too…

Faith is also involved once we seek answers…no complete knowledge…

Matt 24:32-heaven & earth will pass away, but His word never will…anything else about God’s truth never failing?

Lead toward…necessary to ask questions, examine evidence..can’t rely just on faith alone
